Origins
Barry Allen, who later became The Flash, was born alongside his twin brother on March 19th. The brother was announced as stillborn, but really born healthy and given to the Thawnes family, who had their child die during birth. Barry grew up with the habit of always being late, and reading about the adventures of Jay Garrick, the original Flash. He often acted out these crazy adventures with his longtime friend and actress Daphne Dean.
One fateful day as a child, his mother was killed, and the father was convicted of the crime. Barry developed a strong sense of justice in pursuit of proving his father's innocence. When Barry grew older, on his first date, his date and he went to a carnival, where he develops his fear of roller-coasters.
Barry was known as slow and laid-back in his high school, and became very interested in chemistry. After winning first in the Fallville County Fair Agricultural Competition, he was awarded a scholarship to Sun City University. After 3 years at Sun City University, Varry Allen graduated with a major in organic chemistry and a minor in criminology.
While still in school, Barry stops a bank robber, earning him a job as a police scientist for the Central City Police Department Scientific Detection Bureau. He moved to Central City, and bought an apartment with a laboratory. He begins dating Iris West, a Picture News reporter, after they met at the crime scene of a murder.
One night, during an electrical storm, Barry was working on an experiment when a bolt of lightning struck a chemical cabinet, dousing Barry in electrified chemicals. That very night, Barry decided to go home after the incident. When he called the taxi however, Barry could not call it's attention. Thus, Barry ran after the taxi. To his surprise, he ran past the taxi as if it did not move. He stopped by a diner to think about what happened, when a waitress happened to spill all the items on her stray. Barry caught all the items in mid-air and returned them to the waitress. The following day, Barry Allen saved Iris West from a bullet.

Story
Barry Allen, now with his superpowers, designs a costume using cold cast polyester, a material he developed in college and uses his powers to help humanity. Cold cast polyester became sensitive to hydrogen, expanding to the hydrogen in the air, when put in a certain liquid, allowing the material to mold into different shapes. He wore a battery-powered ring to release the extra hydrogen into the ring. Barry Allen later changes the fabric so it is sensitive to nitrogen instead. Barry Allen then chooses to call himself "The Flash" to honor his childhood idol. The Flash later becomes a founding member of the Justice League of America, and becomes extremely close to Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern.

Barry Allen here. My mother always said I was always destined for great things. Scoring a 177 hopefully proved so. I think of myself as a changed man- I was once known for being frequently late and slow but look at me now. The Flash- faster than the speed of light! Although I never played much bowling as a child, I stand for justice, and when justice is needed, I will go to great lengths to set things straight. I bowl fast; In fact, so fast, that if you blink you might miss it. I understand the importance of speed, and using it to my advantage, I am able to help my fellow teammates in defeating the sinister Bowling Machado. I will be practicing my bowling skills. After all, sometimes I move so fast, even I lose track of where I am! My bowling will continue to get better, and I will be prepared if Bowling Machado is to return. My bowling holds a great deal of importance to the people. Whoever knew bowling would be so important!
